Squat Clean and Jerk EMOM 15.02.2023

It has been a while since I had the privilege to write a blog post so here we go!


Today's benchmark workout was on the menu as part of our focus on Olympic Lifting. The purpose of a benchmark workout is to collect some measurable (weight), observable (lift yes or no?), and repeatable data (we'll do this again in about 2 months). We are focussing on Olympic Lifting, CrossFit Style. This means we will do more variations than 1 heavy lift and lift other objects than just the barbell. Just show up to training consistently, and slowly get as strong as an ox.

After our benchmark, there was a little afterparty on the echo bike. Parties are always fun, and so were these 4 sprints.


In a few days, the CrossFit Open will start. For the elite, this is the start of qualification for the official world championships. For us, it is a great opportunity to test our fitness level. To see what you have been working hard for all year. To smile and sweat with like-minded people that also choose to show up and do the not-so-easy things.



Annie Thorisdottir is returning to individual competition this year. PRVN has made a team that might be able to compete for a title now that Rich Froning is no longer on the Mayhem team. And of course, we will keep a close eye on all our Norwegian athletes competing.


In other good news; Serina brought me a chocolate chip cookie today. Now there is one famous quote by Pat Sherwood on the walls of our wardrobe, but he also has this gem: "Never say no to a chocolate chip cookie". Needless to say, the cookie did not make it to the end of the day.
